Welcome to my “diaries!” This has been an idea brewing for a few years now actually, but nothing ever made me excited enough to have a clear picture of how I wanted to do it…until this year.
This year is the first year I’ve had a garden, a hummingbird feeder, and beautiful flowers. I’ve learned a lot about planting (and discovered a few things to change next year for even better crops!), and oddly enough, I’ve learned some pretty important things about life.
A praying mantis graced my beautiful flowers one day, and then I didn’t see her for a while….then she came back….and then she was gone for a while. I started growing sunflowers from seeds, and when they were big enough, they were transferred to this custom-built raised bed. And soon, this praying mantis made her home in my sunflowers. She was there EVERY DAY! It became a daily (even multiple times a day) thing to try to find her. She’s taught me a lot…..her name is Mama Mantis.
This is what sparked the clear idea of what I wanted to do with my blog. One day, I want to write a book….and this is a stepping stone to that end as well.
Follow me as I share what I’ve learned from Mama Mantis and her sunflowers….what a surprise from a bumble bee showed me….and a few other nifty things too 🙂
